Step 1: Initial Interview
Before the project can be started, an initial interview will first need to be conducted. This comes to you at no cost and is scheduled at your convenience. The initial interview allows our professionals to consult with you to better understand the scope of the project, get a feel for your budget and, if necessary, take measurements.
Step 2: The Estimate
Once the initial interview is complete, you will receive a detailed estimate. If that estimate is within your budget, then we will schedule another meeting that includes our designer to discuss more details of your project.
Step 3: Developmental Stage
After both the interview and the second meeting have taken place, the developmental stage begins. Our professionals start by designing an effective floor plan outlining the detailed scope of work included in the estimate. In addition to this, we will have a discussion about the types of finishes available to you, along with our recommendations about what would work best in your home.
Depending on the size and scope of the project, there is a $350 to $700 fee for the work completed during the developmental stage. By paying this fee, you have ownership of the drawings and estimates. However, if you hire Southern Starr Home Builders, this fee is applied towards your total project bill.
Step 4: The Paperwork
If Southern Starr Home Builders is selected for your project, we will develop a contract for you. In addition to this, we will outline a payment and construction schedule. Once all the paperwork is complete, the project can begin.
Step 5: Down Payment
All customers at this time will need to put a 10% payment down. This ensures that your specific project timeline is secure and will not be changed unless you authorize it.
Step 6: Material Selection
Our skilled designers have the experience and the expertise to help you select the interior finishes for your project, while also answering any questions you may have. Choosing the right materials is an essential part of creating the basement remodel you envision.
Step 7: Construction
Once the materials have been selected, the construction begins. Throughout this process, we will keep an active line of communication with you, while also periodically providing you with project updates.
Step 8: Bi-Weekly Meetings
We will set up bi-weekly construction and design meetings with you to ensure that any feedback or concerns you may have with the project are addressed right away. This guarantees that you’ll receive exactly what you planned.
Step 9: Completion of Construction
Our crew ensures construction is complete from top to bottom before we start the cleanup process and the walkthrough. You can feel confident knowing that you will always receive the very best in craftsmanship when you work with Southern Starr Home Builders.
Step 10: Walkthrough and Sign Off
After construction is finished, a final walkthrough and sign off is completed. This allows you to examine our work and to be sure you are satisfied.
Step 11: Pictures and Testimonials for Portfolio
This is the final step in which we will take pictures of your newly remodeled home, in addition to requesting that you write us a testimonial in regards to your overall satisfaction with our work.
